Very easy to drive and manoeuvre and extremely economical.
Cheap tax and insurance.
Cab is neat and tidy, with cd player/radio/with combined sat nav,since owning the box I have fitted a mobile phone hands free blue tooth kit and i have also added an internal camera in the horsebox area with monitor in the cab, A lot safer than trying to turn your head round or check your horse in the rear view mirror,there is also a temp sensor in horse area with gauge in cab,this van comes with proximity sensor to aid reversing and also has a external buzzer to warn pedestrians you are reversing,factory fitted alarm with central locking,It has seating for 3 people.
The horse area is fully sealed so it can be jet-washed out with sealed drainage holes for ease and cleanliness.
There is rubber matting on the floors and eva kickboards on walls with internal lighting,and a roof vent fitted in the ceiling,it is hinged in 5 place across the ramp,the ramp is also moulded to keep the cosmetics of the van looking good instead of the ugly type flat ramp,ramp is very easy to lift as it has a counterbalance fitted,my 12 yr old daughter can open and close with ease
In the rear there is under-seat storage, with bridle and tack hooks on the inside of the rear doors,saddle racks for two under a work surface which also has storage for tack underneath,also included is a little portable camp stove and kettle for that all important cuppa
Spare wheel attached to the rear door.
Starts first time every time, very reliable horsebox.

| Stalled 3 horses with full living, professionally built by a VBRA approved horsebox coachbuilder with over 30 years of manufacturing experience. (This horsebox weighs 4.7 tonnes) Helios fibreglass pod and full tilt cab system that we designed specifically for the Helios horsebox range (unlike most manufacturers who buy universal fibreglass parts). The curves of the luton pod flow into our unique curved roof system giving an internal height of 8’ 2” for the largest of horses, this stunning design also sets us apart from the boxy delivery wagon shape! Other advantages of the Helios design are an overall height of 11’ 3” and the height of the ramp at just 32.5”, making it extremely low and very easily loaded. As with all our ramps they have no heavy rubber matting or cappings around the outside to let water ingress. They can be closed easily without the need for heavy hydraulic rams and oil tanks. We spray Coat-X Polyurea protective coating in every horse area and ramp and this product alone is revolutionising the industry. It is proven to outperform rubber based sprays and heavy rubber mats and kick sheets, it is a fraction of the weight, totally waterproofs any horse area and ramp, stopping water and chemical cleaners rotting aluminium underneath. It can be steam cleaned and it does not degrade or distort with hot, cold or age. More importantly in tests Coat-X has more grip. Another advantage over black, uninviting horse areas when loading horses, is that we Coat-X ours in light grey making them light and airy. Published scientific tests show grey was the colour horses are more willing to walk onto and that they may associate dark with holes. It is stalled for three horses and has a weight certificate to show it can carry 2.5 tonnes of horses and tack. Galvanised steel and a built in safety cage for the horses are standard. Sprayed with 3 coats of oil resistant paint at the sub-frame stage, before the sides and skirts are fitted. Our commercial spray shop department have over 30 years of paint experience in both the commercial vehicle and aerospace industries (military and commercial aircraft) and we spray parts at all stages of the build rather than just painting at the end of manufacturing and be assured that our paint department is part of our company and not just advertised to look this way!
Every Helios horsebox is a bespoke build and for this reason we can allocate the outside tack storage either in the living or horse area. From years of manufacturing experience we know customers already have a preference that suits their horses, so we have designed the Helios range to be very flexible.
We are so confident in the quality of our builds that we give a two year warranty on every Helios horsebox. We include 12 months test, full service, gas safety certificate, electrical installation safety certificate, weight certificate and a totally waterproof ramp and horse area fully coated in light grey Coat-X. The box can legally carry 2.5 tonnes of horses and tack. It has a full solar power system, curved roof, aluminium based composite horse floor and ramp, chassis and all undersides fully painted and coated in waxoyl – all as standard.

| For sale 3.5t Freight Rover (LDV) Sherpa horsebox, D reg - 1987, 35,000 miles on clock (80,000 on 2010/2011 MOT certificate from engine reading), blue with rear load/unload, partitioned herringbone, would take 2 ponies or one horse - The biggest I have taken in there is a 16.2hh ISH. This box can be driven by anyone with a car licence who is over 17. It is a 2.0l reconditioned petrol engine which pulls well, is fuel efficient (for a lorry) and travels at 50mph comfortably with my 16.2hh on board. There is a saddle rack and ample storage above the luton for kit. The floor has rubber matting and the walls are padded above the kick boards.
All the electrics work fine including the speedometer, heating and cigerette lighter (for sat nav) and it has a CD player. It doesn't have power steering but I find it easy to handle both forwards and in reverse! The 2 seater cab in is good condition. It had a new marine ply strong floor and partition (which is moveable) in 2007 and a new steering box for the MOT which it flew through on the 19/05/2010. She is very reliable and starts everytime, including during all the cold weather last winter! All 7 tyres are in very good condition with lots of tread on them. I have all the invoices for any work done from the previous owners and myself.
The 'bad' bits... the only 'significant' patch of rust (can be seen in picture 6 on the wheel arch), my mechanic said that it would just need a patch welded on it. This is not structural. On the MOT there is an advisory about a hole in the exhaust, which has been bandaged but does not leak and therefore did not fail the MOT on it. There are other surface bits but the paint has not come off and she is rising 23yrs! Cosmetic wise she has a few surface scratches and dings on the outside but in the horse area she is newly refurbed and in really great condition. More photos can be emailed to you.
I found it cheap to insure, £255 fully comp including really good breakdown cover and the tax is £205 for 12months. She is taxed until ???? 2011.
An absolutely gutting sale as I love this lorry but my boy really wants a trailer so she must find a new home :(

Clean, well maintained living area with large horse area. Compact lorry, 17ft box length, reliable and very easy to drive. TILT cab with CD/radio player and seats 3, cut through into living. PAS air brakes and battery isolator fitted.
Living comprises of hob, grill and sink. Loads of storage space, mirror, 3 x saddle and bridle racks and a luton large enough for a double mattress. The seating is all well upholstered with matching cushions and curtains. Numerous spot lights. Access into the horse area through a windowed, locking door.
Horse area has two fully adjustable telescopic partitions, plenty of ventilation with 3 windows either side and a roof vent making it light and airy. It also has a light in the horse area. Its has very large dimensions (8ft wide, 7ft8" high) and fits my 17.1hh in with room to spare. The ramp is rubber with aluminium slats and has quite a gentle slope, ideal for reluctant loaders. It is undersprung, lockable and I can open and close it on my own.
The lorry has just been MOT'd for 12 months, so due Sept 2011 and has 5 months tax on it. This is a reluctant sale but horse is injured and no longer competing.

Built to a high standard by Three Counties Horseboxes, this ‘Can-Van’ really can get you out and about! Many extras to the standard spec, including towbar and full length rear safety bar. Suitable for two horses up to 16hh rear-facing, with a generous payload and can be driven by any driver including the later post-1997 licence holders.
“Jemima” has a 2.5l diesel engine with power steering, and does approx 27mpg when loaded. In excellent mechanical order, the MK1 Renault Masters are known for the simplicity and reliability of their engines and this one is no exception - 150,000 miles, regularly serviced, mot until Dec 2011 and tax til end May. Cam belt done December 2010, recent battery upgrade still under warranty, all advisories on last mot carried out. Some minor cosmetic damage to paintwork as expected in a chassis of this age but is completely structurally safe and sound.
The horse area is robustly constructed and fully lined with equimat wall and floor lining, solid breastbar, multiple tie rings and removable partition (can be used for mare + foal or youngstock) with rubber skirt. This lorry has a full service history since it was converted in 1989. Since March 2010 the engine has been refurbished to include:- New fuel pump, new lift pump, new diesel injectors, all new fuel pipes, so a completely new fuel system. There is also a new starter motor, 2 new batteries, all new rubber bushes, new gaskets, new track rod and track rod ends. The cab tilt mechanism has been renewed and several electrical switches, also the headlamps and the handbrake valve mechanism. All welding has been carried out to a high standard and there are new steps and wheel arches. The entire chassis has been professionally undersealed.
All parts are genuine DAF, guaranteed and with receipts. We have spent more than £6,000 excluding labour for these works and the lorry now stands us in around £8,500.
It will be sold with a brand new MOT, taxed until January 2011.
